AVbyte - Wonky Words

This is hardly cabaret - and veers about as far towards musical theater and parody as possible. But one of the things that appeals to me as an artist is finding material that is new and fresh. This is certainly a motherlode. And if nothing else, it is great for some internet chuckling delivered in high quality.

AVbyte is the genius of two brothers Antonius and Vijay Nazareth who spend their time writing pop gems spoofing our pop culture. I have just subscribed to them via YouTube and will be able to see what they come up with on a weekly basis. The current track is adding Princess Leia to the Disney canon of Belle, Ariel, Cinderella and Snow White. Other offerings skewered are Justin Bieber, Dr. Who & the Walking Dead. Not only are the songs catchy as hell, but they manage to assemble a healthy talent pool and slick location work in the Big Apple.

And if that isn't smart enough, they have their own webpage where you can download the tracks individually or it appears they already have a Volume 1 and 2. This is the kind of marketing ploy we need to undertake. Check 'em out.
